Special and Seasonal Shopping

Throughout the year the Illinois Amish country hosts numerous events intown and in the surrounding countryside.  These include everything from holiday festivals to small garden centers popping up with fresh produce.  Arthur plays host to festivals such as the Cheese Festival, Spring Festival, and the 3rd Saturday Downtown Market.  Each offer unique handmade crafts and delicious homebaked goodies for our guests to enjoy.  Below are just a sample of some of the special shopping opportunities that are offered in the Amish area.  We recommend check out constantly changing calendar of events to see what new shopping chances are happening throughout the year.

Corner Garden
Changing with the seasons, the area's best selection of plants and garden supplies, plus many fine outdoor accessories.  As the season progresses, colors changes through a great selection of mums, apples, pumpkins, and indian corn.  Open daily during the growing season.

The Great Pumpkin Patch
Located in the heart of the Amish country this working farm has pumpkins, decorative gourds, Indian corn, garden mums, gift shop, straw maze, edible winter squash, farm animals, haunted barn and family fun.

3rd Saturday Downtown Market
Arthur, Illinois' newest event is the 3rd Saturday Downtown Market.  This event, like the name says, takes place on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  What started as a few vendors has grown into 30+ vendors.  This event caters solely to homemade crafts, fresh baked goods, and collectibles & antiques.  Check out the Gazebo Annex homepage for more information on this event and other great event held at this venue in the Illinois Amish country.
